Tales for the Soul: Stories for Those Who Keep Going
Stories born to accompany those who walk through pain—physical, emotional, existential—and still, each day, choose to keep going.
Not out of heroism, but out of love.
Not out of certainty, but out of courage.
Because to keep going, at times, is the most sacred act.
Chapter 1: The Woman Who Walked with the Sun in Her Chest
She didn’t have a fixed name.
Some called her “the one who resists.”
Others, “the one who doesn’t give up.”
But she preferred to be called simply:
— The one who continues.
Every morning, she rose with a tired body.
Sometimes, with a shapeless pain.
Other times, with a silence heavier than the body.
Still, she stood.
Not because she was strong.
But because she had learned to listen to something deeper than pain:
a soft voice, like an invisible root,
that whispered:
— You’re still here. And that is already a miracle.
One day, she found a stone with a golden crack.
She held it in her hand.
And for the first time, she didn’t feel broken.
She felt open.
Like a flower.
Like a wound that lets light in.
Since then, whenever the pain returned, she touched the stone.
Not to make it go away,
but to remember that she could inhabit it… without losing herself.
Because some heal in hospitals.
And some heal in the shadows.
But all of them, in one way or another,
are suns that still burn.
Chapter 2: The Man Who Cried in Secret and Planted Hope
He lived in a small house, surrounded by plants.
No one knew how often he cried.
He did so in silence, when everyone slept.
His tears weren’t weakness.
They were memory.
He had lost things that cannot be named.
A love.
A dream.
A part of himself.
But whenever he cried, the next day he would plant something.
A seed.
A kind word.
An invisible gesture.
—“Why do you plant so much?” —a child asked.
—“Because every tear deserves to bloom,” —he answered.
Over time, his garden became a refuge.
Not just for him, but for others.
And though no one knew his full story,
everyone felt that within the leaves,
there was something that healed.
Chapter 3: The Girl Who Spoke to Stones
She didn’t talk much with people.
But with the stones… yes.
She collected them from the path, cleaned them, listened to them.
—“What do they say to you?” —they asked.
—“That I’m not alone,” —she answered.
The girl lived with anxiety.
Sometimes, the world felt too noisy.
Too fast.
But the stones didn’t rush.
They didn’t demand.
They simply were.
One day, she left a stone at the school door.
Another on the bench in the square.
Another in her mother’s hand.
Each one bore a symbol.
A heart.
A spiral.
A word: Here.
And without knowing it, the girl began to soothe not only her own world,
but the worlds of those around her.
Chapter 4: The Fire That Doesn’t Go Out
There was a woman who had weathered storms.
She didn’t speak of them.
But you could see it in her gaze:
steady, deep, like someone who has seen the night from within.
She had lived things not easily shared.
Invisible wounds.
But inside her, a fire burned.
It wasn’t a fire of rage.
It was one of life.
Of dignity.
Of memory.
Whenever someone approached her in pain,
she didn’t offer advice.
She simply lit a candle.
And said:
— I’m here.
And that was enough.
Because there are fires that do not burn.
They illuminate.
And she was one of them.
Chapter 5: The Night That Learned to Embrace the Moon
The night was tired.
She was always blamed for sadness, for insomnia, for fear.
But all she ever wanted was to offer rest.
One day, the moon said to her:
— You don’t need to be light. Just presence.
From that moment on, the night stopped trying to shine.
And began to embrace.
She embraced those who couldn’t sleep.
Those who cried in silence.
Those who lived with invisible pain,
with wounds that can't be seen… but weigh heavy.
And in that embrace, the night became a refuge.
She didn’t promise healing.
But she offered companionship.
And the moon, high above, smiled.
Because she knew…
even in darkness,
there is tenderness.
