🎄 The Tree That Remembers

 The Tree That Remembers

At the Portal of the Sun, when December rises with its golden light, the family gathers as it does each year to begin the rite of Christmas decorations. It is not merely a tradition: it is an act of memory, of shared tenderness, of celebrating the bond that unites them.

The living room becomes a stage for smiles and embraces. Voices intertwine with carols that sound like whispers from childhood. Each box that is opened holds not just ornaments, but fragments of stories: the star hung by the grandmother, the angel crafted by the uncle from recycled paper, the bauble that survived three moves and still shines like new.

The Christmas tree rises at the center, a guardian of magical memories. Each branch receives a symbol, each light an emotion. Around it, windows and doors dress in garlands and warm lights, as if the entire Portal were preparing to welcome hope.

And then comes the moment of the nativity scene. With careful hands, each figure is placed in its spot. There is no rush. The nativity is not decoration: it is presence. It is the heart of the rite. Its silent magic invites gratitude, sharing, and looking at one another with renewed tenderness.

At the end, when everything is in place, the family sits together. There are no speeches, only glances that say “we are here, together, once again.” And the Portal of the Sun, illuminated inside and out, becomes an altar of gratitude and community.
